Not sure about the makara yet ( genrally i dont sell my models they just get stockpiled in the shed) Stealth is going electric 50 volt plettenburg running 12 - 14 cells = over 10hp @ 30,000 rpm on a 72mm prop ( a gas motor would be busy staying with it )

check out www.omra-uk.orgthis is the championship series i run in this year ! as for water for petrol yep there aint many waters and they can be problems at times. In the next few months i will be signing a lease and have a water that there will be no problems and we can use any class of boat without restrictions this will be a club water where only paying members will be allowed use and will hold championship events also will have gated access with our own onsite storage. theres a big race in bristol this weekend of over 50 boats booked upto last night ! all models should have some form of insurance ! cars have the brca, planes bmfa, boats mpba or omra if people wish to race most organisers will ask for proof of insurance in some way with a set minimum public liability of £5,000,000 possibly more ? anybody running any high powered model would be a fool in todays society not to have insurance if they were to have an accident without insurance i wouldnt like to think of the out come !

!
That would be great if you could sort a water out without restrictions its good fun when a few turn up and we can have a bit of a race , Trafford is a great place but there are too many restrictions and a very high cost to run there ( pay a years membership and then have to pay £3.50 every time you use the water ) and then to be told you cant use the water for 6 months At bury you pay £20 a year you can go anytime and you are fully insured

fast electrics are great fun ! but id rather be messing about on the water for as long as possible rather than a 5min run then in to charge up for 40mins ! it would be too much like the old 1/10th car racing day ! but every man to his own !

I like petrol and electric boats the problem with petrol is at best you only get 1 or 2 boats turn up on a bashing day and if you are very lucky you may get two running at once , with electric on a bad day you will get 10 boats they all race at the same time its only 6 mins but good fun , with a few sets of lipo's you can race all day i went to the blue lagoon last sunday afternoon took 2 boats and had 4 runs not much fun on your own, for me the fun is in racing i think a 30 min run with gas boat on your own is not for me lets hope that more people get into gas boats in the northwest then we can have some local events then i can get the makara out of the shed (its a good job i didnt spend over 2 grand on my twin engine project )

Agree totally Phil on the gas interest, almost none round our way,and i thought there was no interest with the helis. We went last nite to Fleetwood, calm lake,no boaters. Still had a good time, but would have been better with a crowd.
Did nobody else go this weekend??? Brod...
