Does anyone have any experience of running this engine? ( http://www.kingcobra.co.uk/news/newsitem.php?id=664) I'm looking for a new race engine for one of my Race Runners and Ian Oddie has recommended a 'heli' spec engine. He will convert a new (or good condition) CY/Zenoah engine to Testa Rossa spec for £200. Clive

If Ian Oddie has had his hands on it it'll be very good.
But you could also speak to Stevo here on this forum. He's an excellent tuner and he has the advantage of racing MCDs so he might be better placed to put something extra competitive together for you. Just check out Stevo's feed back on here and read the report from The Sharkfactor about the latest one he has built (actually second to latest, he did one for me at the weekend and I'm struggling to find time to fit it so it hasn't turned over in anger yet ggrr!) then drop him a PM.

Thanks for the comments.
It just seems overkill for racing at club level - especially as there are so few largescale drivers at the local track. Until sunday I could easily beat them despite using a 5 year old 23cc zenoah (2WD on road tune) in my Evo 2!!!! However, I need slightly more top end speed to stay ahead of a well set-up and driven HPI Baja SS that appeared on sunday.
I will try out a standard 26cc CY and if that doesn't work out maybe Stevo can work his magic on one of my spare (unused) engines....

Here's my new Oddified engine (plus my unused Alro Racing Concept engine) - not been tried yet as I need to wire up the connector for the ECU - Impressive dyno figures for a race legal engine - Clive

No excuses for being beaten now . From that chart, the torque is superbly consistent thru the rev range. Should be nice and driveable.

I'm going to use it with a Samba Race Runner pipe in the Evo II - I have thought about getting an RN Tuning pipe but apart from being expensive (Rapid Racing quoted £215.00 - I'm sure it's more now) I would need to change the roll cage and cut part of the bodyshell away for clearance.
If the weather is ok next week I will try it out at either the local motocross track or the 3araceway.

I was told the samba pipes were difficult to get and ended up with a mielke pipe and manifold which I have offerd up to size the fit and it does'nt look right,I presume it should exit down wards and sit level.
